Homeschooling FREEBIES

Over the weekend, I came across some homeschooling freebies and decided to share the "wealth" with everyone else. I love homeschooling freebies and use them as a major part of my homeschooling curriculum to keep my costs down. If you are new to homeschooling and have a preschooler or early elementary age children, you can use homeschooling freebies as your main curriculum instead of a pre-packaged curriculum.

CurrClick

Sorry I am little late sharing this information from CurrClick, but....

Right now through April 5th, there is an Easter Egg Hunt going on over at CurrClick! They have 18 different eggs hidden on their site and for each egg you find, you get a free educational download for free!  I have already gotten them all, thanks to Laura and her hints!

Just in time for a Spring Unit Study, there is another FREE download is available from EggHead Academics!! It is an e-book of a mini lapbooking unit on an overview of Spring.  This is geared towards elementary age children. I think this would be something great to do with my first grader and have my preschooler sit in and listen and even do some coloring of the flower templates that are included in the ebook. Thanks to Laura! Just a note: I was able to download without signing up for anything on their site.

One last FREE item for today!!  You sign up for HomeschoolFreebie of the Day newsletter and you get this FREE Worksheets Directory! Sign up this week!  This directory will have thousands of links to downloadable activity pages, educational worksheets, coloring pages and more! :) Thanks MoneySavingMom and Mom for Him!

Let me know if you know of any more homeschooling freebies??

Menu Plan Monday 3/28-4/3

Last week I went ahead and planned two weeks’ worth of meals thinking that this week would be an easy “cut and paste” of that second week.  Little did I realize that hubby was planning a little overnight getaway for the two of us without kids and that the weather was going to turn cold at the end of this past week so grilling outside was not an option!  So I decided to do some moving of meals around and have put the grilling meals on to this week in exchange for the inside meals that I had initially planned for this week.

Last week I did an essentials trip of grocery shopping!  I shopped for some deals and also got the essentials that we were missing from the big shopping trip I did two weeks ago.  Since that big shopping trip, my hubby has challenged me to see if I can empty the freezer! He really thinks that emptying the freezer is a necessity so I am working at reducing the items in there in the next month.

Do you have any recipes that use mashed bananas, shredded zucchini, or frozen blueberries???   I have about 20 mashed bananas, 8 cups shredded zucchini, and a good 3 lbs of blueberries in my freezer!!  I would love to make some things up in the next month to reduce them in my freezer.   The rest of the items like sandwich bread, various meats are things that I should not have problems using with the next month.

This week’s meals are simple and using what I have on hand in the freezer and pantry.   I am hopefully going to empty things out of my freezer enough to be able to refill it with “baking goodness” and also have plenty of room for my monthly Sam’s run in a couple of weeks.

This week’s lunches that are listed below are for the kids and me! Unless we are having leftovers, our lunches are served with apple slices or carrot sticks along with fruit juice or water.  Hubby usually takes a dinner leftover along with various snacks for his work lunch so I don’t take the time to really plan his lunches. I just take the next container of leftovers in the stack in the fridge that I have prepared ahead of time.
