Last week's menu plans went off without too much trouble. We ended up at my parents’ house one night so plans changed in order to accommodate them so there was a couple of things that ended up not being made last week.
Last week I said that I worked at getting all the items I needed for 2 weeks so I wouldn’t have much in the way of shopping for this week’s shopping trip. I was able to exercise some self-control and only purchased those perishable items I needed along with a couple of things that I needed due to being out of them on my shelves. I should be able to do the same thing again for next week despite it being a payday week, as we will be going on vacation for several days around the Labor day holiday so we won't need much in the way of food that is provided by me during that time.
This week’s menus are some of our favorite simple meals! For some odd reason there isn’t much in the way of leftovers this week for hubby’s lunch again! While this is a bit frustrating for me it should be alright as he will be out of town for work for most of the week. Also at the end of the week, I am hosting a garage sale so I am planning simple meals that my kids can help me with so that I can get things around for the garage sale.
For this week’s lunches (that are listed below), are for the kids and me! Unless we are having leftovers, our lunches are served with fresh fruit or carrot sticks along with fruit juice or water. Hubby usually takes a dinner leftover along with various snacks for his work lunch so I don’t take the time to plan his lunches. He just takes the next oldest leftover on the stack in the fridge.

Breakfast: waffles and sausage
Lunch: sandwich & chips
Dinner: cube steak & fish served with crashed potatoes and corn
Snack: snack basket
Wednesday (8-26)
Breakfast: bagels, cereal, eggs
Lunch: leftovers
Dinner: roasted chicken served with mashed taters & gravy, corn and biscuits
Snack: snack basket
Thursday (8-27)
Breakfast: Pancakes and sausage
Lunch: sandwich & chips
Dinner: skillet pork chops served with mac & cheese and peas
Snack: snack basket
Friday (8-28)
Breakfast: cereal and toast
Lunch: sandwich & chips
Dinner: creamy chicken served with noodles and peas
Snack: snack basket
Saturday (8-29)
Breakfast: “Cook’s Choice”
Lunch: ???
Dinner: grilled burgers and fries
Snack: ice cream or popsicles
